Why is Edly-Allen refusing to call out Madigan and his allies for horrifying allegations?

LAKE ZURICH, IL – It has been eight days since news broke about the horrifying emails disclosing a powerful, longtime ally and friend of House Speaker Mike Madigan allegedly covered up a rape in Champaign, ghost payrolling of government workers, as well as “other items,” yet Representative Mary Edly-Allen remains silent over the allegations surrounding her party boss.

As Crain’s Chicago Business’ Greg Hinz notes, “[S]adly, it is clear that fellow House Democrats and Gov. J.B Pritzker don't have the fortitude to demand a needed change in leadership.”

While the Daily Herald echoed Hinz stating, “[I]t’s time for Madigan to go. If the state’s Democrats don’t force his ouster as party chairman, they invite a backlash at the polls this November. And if the House doesn’t move to replace him as speaker, it loses what little credibility it still has.”

So why has Edly-Allen remained silent? Because Mike Madigan has bankrolled her campaign.

“Illinoisans have had enough of these shocking allegations and corruption at the hands of unethical and self-serving politicians and their friends,” said Chris Bos, a former non-profit leader with a business background, and candidate for the 51st District of the Illinois House of Representatives. “The fact Representative Edly-Allen remains silent tells us everything we need to know; she stands with corrupt insiders who will fuel her campaign over hardworking Illinoisans. As your state representative, I will remain committed to leading the fight for needed reforms to clean up our state and restore integrity in Springfield.”

Chris Bos has dedicated his life to service. For nearly two decades, he devoted his time as a children’s and family pastor, as well as working with non-profit leadership. He has been a trustee with Ela Township since 2017. Today, he continues to serve as a trustee, while also working in business management. Chris and his wife Christina live in Lake Zurich and have three children.

Illinois House District 51 is a suburban district that contains all or part of Barrington, Barrington Hills, Deer Park, Grayslake, Green Oaks, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, North Barrington, Round Lake Park, Tower Lakes, Vernon Hills, Wauconda, and Waukegan.
